Garden

We just planted our garden. We live in the city and have a very small backyard but I love to have a garden so we made a little room for one. We have planted a garden the past two or three years but we always end up moving before we can see it really produce. This year we will be here long enough to really enjoy it. We planted tomatoes, herbs, watermelon, pumpkins, squash, and cucumbers. I will keep you updated to see if it does good. I have this book called, You Grow Girl, that has a lot of really good tips about gardening. I have learned a lot but I think it just takes a lot practice and trying different things to really learn how to garden. It is fun for the kids to watch a little seed or small plant produce somthing that we can actually eat. It is a way for them to see a small miracle right before there eyes.

It's Hard To Let Go

My son has a really hard time getting rid of things that he has loved, just because he grows out of them. It has been very hard for him during this last growth spurt. The only thing that made him feel better was to take a picture of the beloved item so that it could be documented and looked at whenever the urge came. I love that he cares so much about all the little things in life. He is very loving and sensitve but it can be hard when we are trying to get him shoes that fit. I went through all the explantions, that his feet need room to grow, we could make it a fun day and get him "NEW SHOES", that it was a good thing that he was growing, but it was a no go. In the end I had to just put my foot down and tell him that I would not be a good mama if I let him wear little shoes and his toes got all deformed and he finally relented. And in the end we will end up with a very good invintory of all the possesions he has loved through his life. The mind of a 5 year old is hard to understand sometimes.

Gilmore Girl Night

So, I am a big fan of Gilmore Girls. I have watched every episode because my wonderful husband bought me the season DVDs so any that I missed on TV I watched later. I also have a great friend that shares my love so we usually have a Tuesday night Gilmore Girls night. That would be tonight and I am excited. I know it sounds like I am a TV head but really it is just this show. It is kind of my indulgence during the week. I just read that the show will only do one more season. That would be so sad. I actually saw a shirt that on of the girls was wearing on the show and ordered one like it. It says " Reading is sexy". I know I am a total nerd and should not be sharing this so early into my blogging career but I am anyways. Any Gilmore Girls fans out there?

My First Try...

I have been an avid blog reader for some time now and I decided that I better join. I am not much of a writer but I wanted to be a part of the whole blogger world and I think it is a great way to document life. This morning was a perfect morning. My husband said that he would take the kids and let me sleep in. Then he brought me coffee in bed and I have been able to read and blog. What a wonderful beginning to this day. I only have a few more minutes before my daughter gets handed back to me so I should get dressed and ready for the day but I am loving every minute of being a little lazy today. Maybe I will read just one more chapter in my book...
